NEWSLETTER END OF SECOND TERM 2017/18 SESSION
Today marks the end of the second term of the 2017/2018 academic session. We thank God for granting us health and strength and for his divine guidance and protection throughout this period.
Shortly before the end of the term we conducted a notes check on our students to ascertain whether they had complete notes in their respective subjects. We discovered that a few students had incomplete notes, illegible handwriting and unkempt note books. To say this was disappointing is an understatement! The students identified were detained after school hours and made to do the needy. Following that they were warned to desist from this lethargic and sluggish conduct. Let me use this opportunity to implore you to find out whether your child/ward was among this set of students and counsel him/her accordingly.
During the course of the term the College engaged in various competitions and external examinations. Prominent among these were the SWAN (Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria, Kaduna Chapter) 40th Anniversary Quiz Competition in which Danbo International College took the 2nd position; the Teachers Talent Show, a competition for teachers that seeks to identify the best among the top schools in Kaduna – two of our teachers who participated took the 1st and 2nd positions respectively; and the JAMB exam in which 72% of our SS3 students scored 200 and above, with one of them recording the highest score of 300.
During our last PTA meeting the prescribed college uniform was described and projected for all parents to see. As a reminder we expect every student to have the complete sportswear with a pair of white canvas and white socks to go with them. Students who flout this requirement will not be allowed to attend lessons and will be made to serve in-house punishment on sports days. We also notice that some students are fond of wearing caps (berets) without the required permission from the school authorities. Only a handful of students are allowed to do so, on special request from their parents. It is also advisable that students with only one pair of uniforms should endeavour to obtain an extra pair. This is necessary because washing time has now been limited to once a week.
Our second term reports can be accessed online. Please find below the details to log in.
It is expected that students (especially boarders) should update their medical records before returning to school. These should be submitted to the school nurse for reference purposes. Students with any forms of allergy should come along with medical reports to corroborate their claims.
Admission for new students is still going on at Danbo International Secondary School. The college offers a broad spectrum of academic courses streamlined to provide various opportunities for students in pursuit of their lifelong goals. You are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to provide your children with unique education for lifelong learners.
Entrance exams to JS1 & JS2 and SS1 & SS2 for new students continue in earnest. The next entrance examination is Saturday, 21st April 2018.
At the beginning of every term students are expected to come with their APT provisions including the following:
a) Two (2) tins of Milo
